5 EASY STEPS TO IMPROVE YOUR SLEEP!

Lets face it, sleeping well is one of the main topics these days, with 1 out of 10 Australians admitting to having suffered from insomnia at some point. Our bodies are constantly growing, working and regenerating, and it is only at night, while sleeping, that our body and brain can fully recover.

Wether it is from stress, sleep depravation, technology or bad eating habits, a lot of different factors can influence our sleep pattern. I am deeply convinced that one of the many ways to improve our life, is to manage our sleep better. Sleeping well is the key to a best start to the next day.

Here are 5 simple steps that can prepare you better everyday, for a good night sleep:

  • Have your dinner at least 2 hours before bed, as digestion uses energy in your body, which can prevent you from falling asleep easily. A light evening meal is preferred.
  • Avoid caffeine and nicotine after 5pm, as they are a stimulant.
  • Avoid technology in the evening and, most importantly, remove all technology from your bedroom at night. You need to create a space for resting, free of waves, free radicals and stimulation.
  • Soak in a warm bath with magnesium salts, as magnesium will help you relax and diffuse at night. This can also help relieve the stress and anxiety built up throughout the day.
